Volunteers are taking to the streets and open spaces of Poole in Dorset for a seven-day clean up of their town. The Pride in Poole week starts on Wednesday and will see local schools, clubs and businesses each ridding their chosen area of litter and graffiti.
The council is appealing for more volunteers and in exchange will equip them with litter pickers, gloves, plastic sacks and a skip if needed.
Last year, volunteers cleared up more than five tonnes of waste in a week.
Councillor Don Collier said: "If you are tired of litter, fly-tipping, graffiti and neglected pieces of land spoiling the appearance of your neighbourhood, then prove just how much you loathe it and get active cleaning up."
