A man has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of a police officer who was stabbed in Dorset.
The 35-year-old male constable suffered two stab wounds while carrying out inquiries along Surrey Road in Bournemouth on Monday evening.
He is in Poole hospital with non life-threatening injuries, police said.
Michael Edward, 42, of Bournemouth, was remanded in custody by the town's magistrates to reappear before Winchester Crown Court on 2 March.
