The spoof sign was put up by angry motorists |
A village has so many speed humps residents have put up a sign saying it is twinned with the Himalayas. The spoof sign was put up in Nottington, Dorset, next to the official village sign.
Motorists say speed humps on the road are harming their cars' suspension but councillors maintain they were acting on the wishes of local residents.
The road has been the site of several traffic accidents including the death of an elderly pedestrian in late 2002.

Following the fatal road traffic collision, and pleas from residents, Weymouth Council installed seven pairs of speed cushions, two sets of chicanes with a single speed cushion in the middle, and two full speed ramps.
These traffic calming measures stretch a mile along Nottington Lane.
Village resident, Richard Loveridge said: "I thought it was a bit of a joke, a trial thing and possibly they would take them out again but I think they're a bit over the top."

Tara Gooding, a spokeswoman from the Council, said: "Residents were concerned over the road traffic accidents.
"There is room for cars and people to go about there daily life, we just need to be more sensible."
Ron Fisher, from the village, said: "We're trying to prevent another accident happening.
"We've had one fatality on the road and we don't want any more."
The council say they will take the fake sign down within a week.
