Two Devon schemes aimed at combating anti-social behaviour have been granted �100,000 funding by the Home Office. The action zones in Plymouth and Exeter will receive �25,000 a year each over the next two years.
Plymouth's Anti-social Behaviour Unit has identified 50 problem areas and hotspots in the city which it has been tackling over the last year.
In Exeter, campaigns have been held against alcohol-related disorder, noise problems, littering and dog fouling.
Plymouth's Anti-social Behaviour Unit receives about 1,200 calls a year. Of those, half are about noise nuisance, 20% about young people misbehaving and 30% about fly-tipping and rubbish.
