Royal Mail says most customers will still be within a mile of a branch
Royal Mail has revealed details of 12 post offices in Plymouth which are due to close by the start of February.

The Post Office had warned of widespread closures at the end of last year.

The company is believed to be looking at closing up to half of the city's 70 post offices.

Having carried out a necessary six-week public consultation review, it has announced details of the 12 branches to close.

They are: Compton Gifford, Greenbank, Laira, Millbridge, Pounds, Albert Road, Derriford, Drake Barracks, Ham, Keyham Barton, Roborough and Victory Steel.

The Post Office said it was only taking the decision after careful consideration.

It said it believed that 95% of customers will still be served by another post office branch within a mile of their homes.
