Adults targeted by drink campaign
Adults in part of Derbys who buy alcohol for under 18s are the focus of a campaign to curb underage drinking.

Posters warning that doing young people 'a favour' of buying alcohol could mean a fine of up to 1,000 are being put up in the south of the county.

In the past, underage drinkers themselves have been targeted.

But the Safer South Derbyshire Partnership hopes this will get the message through to adults approached by youngsters outside off licenses.

Anybody caught buying alcohol for under 18s could be prosecuted under the Licensing Act 1964

The police and county council said they are working together on the campaign to cut underage sales of a whole range of products - including alcohol.
