Train firm aims to improve image
A train company operating in the East Midlands and Yorkshire is trying to challenge perceptions of trains as being dirty and never on time.

Midland Mainline's new advertising campaign has the theme "let's Move On".

It will involve local TV ads, billboards and a leaflet drop of people and businesses along its routes.

The company recently introduced a fleet of new Meridian trains and has brought in one simple range of leisure tickets in a bid to remove confusion.

James Burles, from Midland Mainline, said: "We've got new trains and we've also just ripped up our pricing structure for our advance purchase fairs.

"Our customers told us we had too many fares with too many rules and restrictions, so we've done away with all of them and introduced one new range, with all the same restrictions."
