The council tax set by Derbyshire County Council will rise by 2.25% it has been confirmed. This is equivalent to an increase of 15.60 per year for an average Band D property in the area.
The council says the rise will pay for a real terms increase of 9.5m in funding for schools and 9.2m in care for vulnerable people.
County council leader John Williams said the decision was "a budget that puts local people first".
Efficiency savings
He said: "This is a sensible and efficient budget which was agreed by all of the major political groups on the council.
"It shows sound leadership and good financial management of the council's resources."
Final spending figures for the county council are 704.5m - an increase of just over 33m.
In addition, to support the budget, 9.2m has been made available from extra grants, efficiencies and other savings and bank interest.
