| Four schools in Derbyshire are set for �1.6m worth of improvements. The cash from the county council is for a range of schemes, including new classrooms and play areas. It has been awarded to Peak Special School in Chinley, Firfield primary in Breaston, Melbourne junior, and Stanton primary in Swadlincote. Education boss Councillor Alan Charles said: "Headteachers at the school have been consulted about the designs to ensure that they meet their needs."
