Youth centre plagued by vandals
A spate of vandalism could jeopardise the future of a Derbyshire youth centre, according to support workers.

Every night since Christmas Eve windows have been smashed along the front of the Cantelupe Centre, next door to St Mary's Church in Ilkeston.

The building is used by pre and after school groups along with youth and toddler groups.

Trustees fear people could be put off from using the centre because of the boarded up windows.

Richard Hallam, from the centre, said: "The problem that we've had started from Christmas Eve when we had one window smashed and then every night we've had a window smashed.

"We're now up to about seven windows.

"We've hardly got any windows left at the front of the property now."
