Skate park 'to improve behaviour'
A Derbyshire school is installing a skateboarding park in an attempt to reduce anti-social behaviour out of school hours.

The new 120,000 facility will be built inside the grounds of Bishops Purglove Primary School in Tideswell.

The village is one of seven areas in Derbyshire and the High Peak benefiting from a 1.2m grant from Sport England.

It is hoped the project will also reduce vandalism and bad behaviour in the centre of the village.

Wayne Alsop, a youth sport development officer for Sport England, said: "Hopefully the skate park will make young people more physically active and have an effect on anti-social behaviour.

"Also, it will give young people a place where they can congregate away from residential areas and hopefully the antisocial behaviour will decrease."
