Police are stepping up patrols in Derby city centre to target alcohol-related crime in the run-up to Christmas. Extra beat officers will carry out patrols on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
The force will work alongside trading standards officers to clamp down on under-age alcohol sales and premises that serve after licensed hours.
Police will also use mobile CCTV and video cameras and drug sniffer dogs around pubs and clubs.

It follows a six-week long enforcement campaign during the summer.
Ch Insp Brian McKeown said: "We have made great strides in reducing crime across the division over the past year but the one area which has seen only a steady reduction is violent crime.
"This is something that's been reflected around the country and a major contributing factor to the problem is alcohol-related crime and disorder in our towns and Derby city.
