Progress report over city vision
firemen in floods in Carlisle
Residents will be given a progress report about a major project to set out the future for flood-hit Carlisle.

A state of the city event is being held on Wednesday.

People were being given the chance to hear about the progress of Carlisle Renaissance, which aims to regenerate the city over the next decade.

It will be the first chance to hear feedback from recent widespread consultation and how the community can continue to be involved.

Plans under Carlisle Renaissance include expanding the city centre, creating a vibrant waterfront area and improving transport flow around the city.

In February, more than 2,000 people visited a drop-in centre over six days to give their views on the city's future.

Questionnaires have been sent to more than 2,000 residents and views are being sought through the city council's website.

Wednesday's event is at the Tithe Barn at 1730 GMT.
