The floods damaged hundreds of properties in the city |
Consultation is due to start on plans to regenerate Carlisle a year after it was devastated by floods. More than 2,000 homes and businesses were affected by last January's floods and the cost of damage was estimated at more than 250m.
Carlisle Renaissance was set up in the aftermath to regenerate the city over the next 10 years.
A series of consultation events on the plans, including a drop-in centre, are being held during January.
Carlisle City Council leader Mike Mitchelson said: "It is crucial to the success of Carlisle Renaissance that as many people as possible are involved in helping to shape the development strategy.
Drop-in centre
"This is the document that, along with the movement strategy, will be the blueprint for the physical, social and economic regeneration of Carlisle's urban core."
Groups, organisations and the public will be asked their views during a two-week period starting on 23 January.
Representatives from the business, education and voluntary sectors and residents will be invited to workshops and meetings.
During the consultation, a drop-in centre will be set up in the city centre.
The results will go into the next phase of the development strategy, which is due to be published in Spring 2006.
