Man is injured in Helvellyn fall
Mountain rescuers were called to Helvellyn in Cumbria after a climber broke his leg after slipping on ice.

More than a dozen volunteers from the Patterdale Mountain rescue team were joined by a group from Derbyshire who were on a training exercise.

The 43-year-old man, from Harrogate, North Yorkshire, had fallen at Red Tarn on Saturday afternoon.

The man was lowered to an ambulance by rope, before being taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.
