The garage where Lara's remains were found |
Forensic tests carried out on the remains of a baby found encased in concrete in Cumbria have proved to be inconclusive. Detectives were hoping the results would lead to certain identification of the child, who police named Lara.
The coroner will now consider the results, along with other scientific evidence, and decide whether they are enough to identify the child.
Lara was found in a garage in Barepot, near Workington in September 2002.
A couple arrested in connection with the death were released without charge in March.
The body was estimated to have been encased in the concrete block more than 10 years ago.
No cause of death has been established for baby Lara, who is thought to have been aged between four and six months at the time of her death.
