A �1m advertising campaign has been launched urging people not to buy Peugeot cars in protest at the closure of the firm's factory in Coventry. Amicus and the Transport and General Workers Union have put adverts in national and regional papers and posters close to Peugeot dealerships.
The adverts feature a dejected Peugeot worker being comforted by his wife but surrounded by English football flags.
PSA Peugeot-Citroen aims to close the Ryton site with the loss of 2,300 jobs.
The firm plans to move production of the 206 to France and start work on a new 207 plant in Slovakia.
Managers arrive in UK
On Friday, workers from the threatened plant protested at a dealership owned by their parent group.
Workers gathered at the Murley Citroen dealership in Albert Street, Rugby, Warwickshire.
A spokesman for Amicus told the BBC that more demonstrations were planned.
"It's a nationwide campaign but because of the Ryton plant in Coventry there will be a focus in the Midlands.
"We are discussing another march when the company launches the 207 later this month."
Senior managers from the company will arrive in the UK on Tuesday to meet members of staff and unions.
