New sponsor for surf competition
Environmental charity Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) has found a new sponsor for one of the longest-running surf contests in the UK.

The SAS Cornish and Open has attracted extreme sports goods company O'Neill as its title sponsor.

The contest, which also claims the title of the UK's greenest surf festival, will take place at Porthtowan between 17-19 August.

A SAS spokesman said: "We expect top UK surfers and an overseas contingent".

The event emphasises environmental responsibility, with talks, beach litter picks and eco-art workshops.
