The campaign hopes to show how easy recycling is |
People in Cornwall are being encouraged to recycle more domestic rubbish in a new 500,000 campaign. Recycle for Cornwall aims to improve the county's recycling rate from 15% to 20% of its rubbish. The English average is 14.5%.
All local authorities in the country must meet a national recycling target of 25% by 2005-6.
The latest campaign is attempting to demonstrate the variety of materials that can be reused.
Campaign marketing co-ordinator Rebecca Rapson said the county already had an impressive record but could do a lot more.
She said: "We definitely want to focus on those who are already recycling, there is more that people can do.
"They can recycle more materials. Plastic bottles are one example. People may already be doing glass, but we want to make sure they are reusing all the materials they can.
"We also want to bring on board all those who haven't started recycling yet and show them how easy it is."
