In September, 789 defects were noted on the county's roads
Seven inspectors are patrolling around Cornwall on foot to try and find any dangerous defects in the county's roads and footpaths.

The inspectors, from the council's Cormac (Cornwall Highways Maintenance and Construction) team are walking about 19 miles (30km) a week.

Once a problem has been identified, it is logged and repaired by a dedicated work gang within a day.

In September, 789 defects were discovered on Cornwall's roads.

The team are also reporting any difficulties with other agency covers and boxes, such as BT's equipment.

Cormac employs about 400 people across the whole county and has an annual turnover of about 30m.
