Summer warning over drink driving
Driver
The government says people should not drink at all if they plan to drive
Bristol City Council's road safety team is visiting a motor show this weekend to promote a summer drink-drive campaign.

The team is manning a stall at the show on the Downs to remind drivers to think about how they will get home, before going out.

Visitors will be invited to wear "Drunk Buster Goggles", which recreate the sensation of being drunk.

Simple tasks become almost impossible while wearing the accessories.

A spokesman said: "Friends having barbecues where the guests turn up with a bottle or two, or calling into the pub straight from work, often haven't considered the journey home.

"We want to get people to make a conscious effort to have either a nominated driver or alternative to the car and keep themselves and others safe."
