The West has produced a clutch of medal winners at the Chelsea Flower Show, with golds for two Somerset nurseries and a South Gloucestershire herb farm. Kelways took top honours for its peonies and irises, Blackmore in Langdon got gold for its delphiniums.
Jekka McVicar was awarded her ninth gold for organic herbs from her Alveston farm.
Leyhill Open Prison's "Garden of Hope" was awarded a silver flora medal in the Show Gardens category.
It has been quite a week for herb grower Jekka McVicar whose cat Borridge hit the headlines on Sunday when he made a "guest appearance" at the show.
The expert's husband heard miaows as he was unloading items for her exhibit and Borridge the cat was found.
"He had gone to sleep on some grass in the back of the lorry," said Ms McVicar.
"They caught him and he went back home in the cab of the vehicle."
Other Chelsea winners in the West included Rentokill Tropical Plants from Freshford near Bath which received a silver gilt along with Somerset Postal Flowers and CS Lockyear from Bristol which won silver for its fuchsias.
