A punctual service must arrive within five minutes of the advertised time
Central Trains, which operates services across the East Midlands has seen its best performance in six years.

Figures show just over 86% of trains ran punctually between April and June this year, a rise of 6% on the same period last year.

But 13.9% were considered to be late in the study which was carried out by Office of Rail Regulation.

Bosses at Central Trains said they were striving to improve their passenger services further.

To be defined as punctual services must arrive within five minutes of their advertised times.
