Overtime ban hits train services
One train
Rail services are being hit by overtime ban
A refusal by train staff to do overtime duties is causing travel problems for regional commuters and passengers.

Rail operator One has apologised for cancelling services in Cambs, Essex, Herts, Norfolk and Suffolk.

Its West Anglia services between London and Cambridge are worst affected but other lines have problems too.

The move comes as rail union Aslef is preparing to ballot members over strike action later this month after it failed to agree a 4.5% pay deal.

A spokesman for operator One said the firm had been in talks with union members for some time and was sorry for any inconvenience caused to customers.

Andy Reed, national organiser at Aslef, said members were unhappy because staff appeared to be getting different wage rates, depending on which routes they worked.

Travellers are advised to call National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50 to find out what trains are running and when.
