Eight members of her family have been re-bailed |
Eight relatives of a murdered teenager who were questioned in connection with her disappearance were given bail for a second time on Wednesday. Shafilea Ahmed, 17, of Warrington, Cheshire, went missing in September 2003.
Her body was found in the River Kent in Sedgwick, Cumbria, in January.
A spokesman for Cheshire Constabulary said the eight, arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, have been re-bailed until 25 February.
Her disappearance came just months after a family trip to Pakistan during which the 17-year-old drank bleach in an apparent attempt to avoid an arranged marriage.
The eight, who police say are members of Shafilea's extended family, were arrested in West Yorkshire after police searched a number of houses in September.
Shafilea was last seen alive at her home in Liverpool Road, Great Sankey, on 11 September.
