A primary school was forced to partially close after vandals smashed its windows for the second time in a week.

Year One and the Reception Class of Carr Infants School in Acomb, York, were told to stay at home.

About 28 windows were smashed by the vandals overnight on Tuesday 1 April.

The school's cloakroom and toilets were also damaged in the attack.

Head teacher Anne McEwan said she was saddened by the incident, telling BBC North Yorkshire that it had "affected the whole school".
