| Tuesday, 14 January, 2003, 07:14 GMT Opinions sought on road scheme ![]() There were five accidents at the bridge in 2002 People living near a notorious stretch of the A30 in Cornwall are to be asked to make their views on a new road known. The Highways Agency said it is vital that local people participate in a consultation on the scheme to bypass the Iron Bridge on Goss Moor. The low bridge at Goss Moor is frequently hit, causing long tailbacks. The �50m project to improve the flow of traffic on the A30 was announced last year. Frequently hit The Highways Agency says it is progressing on schedule and the public consultation will start in March. However it is not yet clear whether the new road will have to be built across anybody's land. If it does the Agency may have to compulsorily purchase some areas. Supporters of the scheme say any road avoiding the bridge will improve the region's economy.
