Beach huts a snip at 60,000
Dunster chalet
The chalets are in Dunster on the Somerset coast
Two wooden beach huts constructed in the 1930s and still without bathrooms, have gone on the market for thousands of pounds.

The vintage properties are to be auctioned in November unless a buyer can be found beforehand.

The huts overlook Dunster beach in Somerset and cannot be occupied for more than 10 months of the year.

One chalet, which sleeps five people, is on the market for a guide price of between 50,000 and 60,000; the other, which sleeps four, has a guide price of between 55,000 and 65,000.

Fitted kitchens

Although neither property has a bathroom, there is a communal shower block which all chalet owners use.

The open-plan chalets with pull-down beds and small fitted kitchens are in a complex of about 200 on the edge of Exmoor National Park.

Malcolm Prescott, of Minehead-based Webbers Property Services, said about 40 people had already been in contact about the chalets which are being sold by a family.

"You get a sense of nostalgia there, it is almost like being back in the 1930s," said Mr Prescott.

In August, a former seaside toilet block in Dorset was sold for 37,000.

And earlier in the year a beach hut at Chesil, Dorset was sold for 120,000.
