One of the survivors of the terrorist bomb attack in Bali has described how he searched for his friends in the aftermath of the explosion.

North Londoner Delane Brown had been in Bali for two weeks on holiday and was drinking with three friends at Paddy's Bar, across the street from the Sari nightclub when they heard two explosions.

He told BBC London: "We were sitting drinking with friends and suddenly there was a very bright light followed very quickly by a loud clap and a lot of dust.

"I think immediately most people realised something serious was happening and everybody was shouting: 'It's a bomb'."

He said he managed to get out, dragging a girl with him but was separated from his three friends.

He quickly caught up with two of them but they each split up to go back into Paddy's Bar to see if their third friend, Richard, was there.

"We split up, the three of us, and took three different directions to look for him, actually returning back into Paddy's nightclub to identify whether his body was among the casualties inside the club.

"After 10 or 15 minutes we couldn't find him so we returned to the hotel and fortunately he was there, being treated by some of the hotel staff and some fellow Britons that were staying with us."

While looking for Richard they helped pull several people out of the bar and removed debris from the road to allow emergency services better access to the blast site.

But once they realised all four were safe they called home to let friends and family know they were all safe.

Now back in the UK, Mr Brown said he had managed to get some sleep on Sunday.

But he added: "It think it will be more difficult to sleep as we keep re-living the events".
