Faye Turney has a three-year-old daughter

Leading Seaman Faye Turney, 26, was the only woman among the 15 captured.

She is married to Plymouth-based Royal Navy sailor, Adam, and has a three-year-old daughter. She is originally from Shropshire.

LS Turney appeared in several videos, and letters, which were claimed to have been written by her, were released by Iran.

Her family have said it was a "very distressing time" and thanked people for their support.

Adam Sperry arrived in Iraq just four weeks before being captured

Marine Adam Sperry, 22, from Wigston, near Leicester, joined the navy three years ago.

His family said he had been based in Faslane, Scotland, until going to Iraq just four weeks before he was captured.

A video showing Mr Sperry, along with two other crew members, Nathan Summers and LS Faye Turney, was broadcast on television on Friday, 30 March.

James Sperry told the BBC at the time that his brother was "strong-minded" and would cope well.

And his mother, Sandra, said her son was "just doing his job" and asked the Iranian authorities to send him home safely.

Nathan Summers is from Hayle in Cornwall

Operator Mechanic Nathan Summers, from Hayle in Cornwall, was shown on television saying the British crew had "trespassed" into Iranian waters.

The videotape appeared to have been edited.

Chris Penfold, landlord of his hometown's Cornubia Inn, where Nathan worked as head barman for 18 months, said: "There is a lot of anger about what is happening to Nathan, we just want him back in Hayle."

Capt Chris Air was shown in front of a chart of the northern Gulf

Royal Marine Capt Chris Air, 25 from Altrincham in Cheshire, was one of two men shown in a video in which he appeared in front of a map of the Gulf.

He said Iranian maps apparently showed the group had been inside Iranian territorial waters.

In a statement, his parents, Robin and Sally, and younger brothers, Rick and Stuart, said the footage had brought them "some comfort, even though we hold to the belief that it is a wrong action by the Iranian authorities".

On his release, his family who are evangelical Christians, said their faith had sustained them during recent days.

Lt Carman's mother said her son looked fit and well

Lieutenant Felix Carman, 26, appeared in the same video as Capt Air but was shown separately in front of the map.

He said he understood why Iran was "so angry about our intrusion into your waters".

His mother, Alison Carman, who lives near Swansea, told the Evening Standard newspaper: "It was a shock to see him on TV but we were glad to see he looked fit and well."

Arthur Batchelor is one of the youngest sailors

Operator maintainer Arthur Batchelor, 20, was shown on Iranian television for the first time on 2 April.

His sister, Maggie Phillips, who lives in Plymouth, told the BBC she was relieved to see her brother.

She said: "It gave us a bit more reassurance that he was fine and wasn't too bad."

She added that he "looked tired" but the family remembered his "cheeky grin".

Marine Banks' parents said they were immensely proud of their son

Royal Marine Mark Banks, 24, has been in the armed forces for about three years.

In a statement, his parents, Penny and Alistair, of Lowestoft, Suffolk, said Mark was "a very strong and determined lad".

"We hope he is drawing strength and courage in the knowledge that he has so many people that are incredibly proud of him," they said.

Royal Marine Joe Tindell, 21, is from south London and has been in the marines for four years.

In a statement, his family said they were "immensely proud" of him.

They said Joe was part of a small, committed team who were close friends.

"They are all experienced, well trained and will be supporting one another and their naval colleagues through this difficult time," the statement added.

Royal Marine Danny Masterton, 26, is from Muirkirk, Ayrshire.

A statement from his family said it had been a "distressing" time but thanked relatives, friends and colleagues for their support.

Royal Marine Paul Barton is from Southport in Merseyside.

Leading Seaman Christopher Coe, 31, from the Dalton area of Huddersfield, is understood to have joined the Royal Navy in 1993.

In a statement, his family said they were relieved to see Chris looking "safe and well" on the video footage.

"We are very proud of our son and we look forward to having him home soon," it read.

The family of Operator Maintainer Simon Massey said they had gone through a "very distressing time", but were grateful for all the support they had received.

Operator Maintainer Andrew Henderson, 24, is from Coedpoeth, near Wrexham, in North Wales. His parents, Ted and Diane, were "absolutely over the moon" at his release.

The family, including his father Ted, a retired police officer, and mother Diane, who is a hospital administrator, had a barbecue to celebrate.

Corporal Dean Harris, 24, is from the village of Trevaughan, near Carmarthen, west Wales.

He was described by friends as a "strong character."

His family have spoken of their "overwhelming relief" at his release.
