LATEST SHOW
I have a hideous theory.

I want to reveal exclusively to The Daily Politics that I think that the Humphrey who has just died may not have been the original Humphrey.

When I was working with John Major, Humphrey went missing. In those days, he was a bedraggled, dishevelled cat.

The cat that returned may have been a replacement introduced by feline enthusiasts within the Tory Party.

Sir Christopher Meyer

If you're watching in broadband, here's how to find your favourite parts of the latest show.

1201 Sally introduces our guests for the show, former Washington Ambassador Sir Christopher Meyer, now Chairman of the Press Complaints Commission, and Professor Francis Fukuyama - a Washington insider who's penned a string of thought-provoking articles and books, his latest being After The Neocons.

1202 We round up the stories making the news here at Westminster this lunchtime in our Newsbelt.

1204 Yesterday's rescue of Norman Kember was a welcome exception to the daily death toll in Iraq. The third anniversary of the start of the war was marked by more of the same: the bombs and murders continued all week, and this morning a further seven Iraqis were found handcuffed, blindfolded and shot. Wednesday saw a piece of Anglo-American diplomacy: almost simultaneous speeches from Messrs Bush and Blair. Giles talks to the pollsters about the effect on public support.

1207 Sally discusses Iraq with Professor Fukuyama and Sir Christopher.

1218 We look back over the other stories of the week, to see who's had a rosy seven days and who hasn't quite cut the mustard - our flower-girls Sophie and Susie bring you Good Week Bad Week.

1222 Former inhabitants of Number Ten are frequent visitors to the Daily Politics studio - and not all of them are ex-Prime Ministers! Sally welcomes the Reality Queen of the Jungle - journalist Carol Thatcher - a journalist, of course, in her other life.

1226 Just enough time to get the outlook for next week: Giles presents his Friday Forecast.

1228 Your texts and emails for our guests.
