Jamie Oliver makes you laugh with his new dinners, because theirs nothing new about them. We grew up on these meals as the main evening meal, so rather than praise him we should criticize him.
Because he's teaching us nothing these meals was main evening meals and in many houses they still are.

Regarding the Conservatives effort to choose more women and ethnic minority MPs: It's all very well for the parlimentary party to be more representative, but in electing a new MP what the constituents are really interested in is whether that individual has the skills and the commitment to represent them. Positive descrimination is as bad as negative.
You do not have to be a woman or from an ethnic minority in order to effectively represent the interests of those groups in parliament - you simply have to be an effective public servant. Less image, more substance please!
Duncan
I strongly disagree with David Cameron's A list. We live in a capitalist society where everybody should earn their job through merit, surely we would be better represented by somebody who has earned their job in this way. Just because an MP is not a member of a particular minority group doesn't mean they are ineffective in representing such society fully.
The new "webCameron" shows a disturbing lack of numeracy. Mr. Cameron is described as being "Male, 43 years old, London" despite being "born in October 1966". Is age-inflation an electoral virtue?
Tim Bennett
David Cameron and his new look Tory policy agenda reminds me of Tony Blair and his NEW LABOUR agenda ten years ago - same spin, same plastic smiles, same hollow promises !! David Cameron is Tony Blair mark 2. Vote for him and one might as well vote for New Labour. Regards,
Ian Payne
Is 'stability' now New Tory Newspeak for 'prudence'?
John Spurway
I never associated the Tories with a respect for the environment, more an obsession with profit at all costs. Can you really hope to wean the party's rural base off their gas-guzzlers? Good luck.
Sean O'Conor
Good 'ole Cherie! And, she is a High Court Judge!?
Bill Boyd
Tony Blair may have decided on Gordon Brown, but, as a Labour member, I will not be voting for him - and we'd better have a vote!
Peter Potter
Blairs speech? more like a yankee snake oil salesman pitch to me.
Gary Turk
Blair- Brilliant, will be sad to see him go,utterly fantastic and in my opinion the best we have ever had and the best we will ever have,i have always voted for him, i will be rooting for him and his family for the future i think his party were wrong to boo him and now they may be regretting it, i would like him to stay on as he is the best man for the job by far. however IF he MUST go, Gordon is clearly the next best and their must be no alternative.
Darren Bernard
On Gordon Brown's speech: I thought it brilliant - a breath of fresh air, at last, someone who cares about politics not image, substance over style. Thank goodness. I look forward to Brown as our new Prime Minister.
Sarah Oubridge
Would you come clean and tell us whether it is the BBC official policy to denegrate Gordon Brown and puff-up the spacious Camron.
As a former Tory candidate and voter I will certainly be voting for Gordon Brown as will a number of former Tory members that I know.
Janet Girsman
This "Our Say" thing is based on a very naive interpretation of what "power to the people" means. If we took that phrase literally, we would remove politicians completely and let the country descend into anarchy. If we always let the majority opinion dictate the laws of the land, then any group of people who make up less than 50% of the population will be ignored every single time. I would be interested in hearing the group's answers to my comments.

On another serious topic I consider that this small island must maintain our independent nuclear deterrent after Trident. In a world such as we have today it would be extreme folly to leave ourselves open to some unexpected attack without the necessary ultimate means of defence.
Alfred Bright
Why oh why can't the M.P's and speakers for the Government, answer a leading question, with either a direct 'yes' or 'no' without waffling on in an attempt to run out of time, therefore never answering the question - it is very frustrating, particularly as they are supposed to act for us the public.
Shirley Howick
As a young lib dem member I wish to comment on this years conference.
Regarding the tax proposals. I believe we are still committed to scrapping tuition fees, free personal care for the elderly and free eye/dental check ups? If so how will these proposals be paid for? Cble has yet to explain this.
Secondly I agree with more green taxes but Cable has only highlighted three, CO2 levy, aviation and higher tax for polluting cars. What will the other green taxes be?
I cannot help but hope ming is a short term leader.
