The former deputy leader of the Labour Party, Roy Hattersley, has said he believes Gordon Brown is "absolutely safe, absolutely secure and absolutely in command".

Lord Hattersley said he wanted the Labour party to "reaffirm its moral position", and he felt Gordon Brown could do that "better than anybody else".
