Reality TV star Paris Hilton poses for photographers as she arrives for the Cinema Against Aids gala event in Cannes, which raises money for the American Foundation for Aids Research.

She also took time to pose for photos with some of her celebrity pals including TV personality Doug Reinhardt and Peaches Geldof.

The annual charity event has raised a total of $44m (�27m) since they began in 1993. Curtis Jackson, Mike Myers and Danny Glover were among the attendees.

Heroes actress Hayden Panettiere joined Elton John's partner David Furnish on stage. Last year the event raised $10m (�6.3m).

French actor and director Guillaume Canet and Oscar-winning actress Marion Cotillard arrived together.

Hollywood actor and former Celebrity Big Brother contestant Verne Troyer turned up on his scooter.

Model and actress Liz Hurley and burlesque dancer Dita von Teese added a splash of glamour.
