Organisers of the 62nd Cannes Film Festival have unveiled the line-up for this year's event. The poster for the 62nd festival is inspired by a scene from Michelangelo Antonioni's 1962 film L'Avventura. Running two hours and 40 minutes, Inglourious Basterds - the latest film from Pulp Fiction director Quentin Tarantino - is expected to be a strong contender for the prestigious Palme d'Or. Brad Pitt stars. But Tarantino is sure to face stiff competition from veteran director Ken Loach, flying the flag for Britain with his latest film Looking for Eric. The title refers to footballer Eric Cantona, who also appears. Britain will also be represented by Fish Tank, the second feature from Andrea Arnold. Newcomer Katie Jarvis stars as a 15-year-old whose life is unsettled when her mother brings home a new boyfriend. Fresh from her Oscar-winning success in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, a blonde Penelope Cruz reunites with Spanish director Pedro Almodovar for the romantic thriller Broken Embraces. Jane Campion, a previous Palme d'Or winner for The Piano in 1993, returns to Cannes with Bright Star. Ben Whishaw and Abbie Cornish star as the English poet John Keats and his lover Fanny Brawne. This year's event will open with Up, the latest feature from animation powerhouse Pixar. Ed Asner provides the voice of a grumpy old man whose attempts to get away from it all are thwarted.
