Floods are causing problems in various parts of England. In Armitage Bridge near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, about 60 homes were reported to have been affected.

Council workers delivered sandbags to residents of the South Yorkshire village of Toll Bar, as water rose through the drains.

Toll Bar was devastated in June last year after water flooded homes and businesses. Many residents are still living in temporary caravans whilst their homes are rebuilt.

Other residents have only just moved back home, and were worried as side roads started to flood.

In Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, efforts were under way to prevent a lorry from slipping further into the river.

This garage in Huddersfield had to close because its forecourt was under several inches of water.

Elsewhere in Huddersfield several roads were under water as heavy rainfall washed off nearby hillsides.

The River Colne, which flows through the centre of Huddersfield, has two severe floods warnings in place.

Meanwhile, heavy snow in Durham, Northumberland, Cumbria and North Yorkshire caused disruption for some people, including this cyclist in Nenthead.

Drivers were warned to take care in northern England and Scotland.
