Howard Holmes also found this lorry which backed into the river overnight, breaching the wall. Carolynn Greene took this photo of the River Wharfe bursting its banks and flooding the nearby cemetery at St. Mary's Church in Tadcaster. Alexis Bradbury says the River Calder's banks in Mirfield, West Yorkshire have burst. The local playing fields are now under water. Paul Carrier sent us this picture from Silsden, which is near Ilkley, on the road between Skipton and Bradford. Chris Rogerson got a shot of the Calder & Hebble Navigation lock bursting its banks at Elland in Halifax, West Yorkshire. The sign says it all.
