Flybe raises fears on Paris route
Airline Flybe fears that a new air link from the Channel Islands to Paris could be dropped before it has begun.

Flybe announced in August that it wanted to start operating to the French capital from Guernsey and Jersey.

Now it says lack of support from Jersey's government means the route could remain grounded.

Deputy Alan Maclean, Jersey's assistant minister for economic development, has said the department will make a decision this week.

Flybe said the States of Guernsey had said it would invest in the Paris air route.

Like other parts of the British Isles, Jersey and Guernsey would be expected to invest into the route which would cost about 3.5m a year to run.

Mike Rutter from Flybe says Jersey now has seven days to make a decision or the airline faces losing the slots its secured.
