Flybe warning over landing fees
Flybe
Flybe: Threat to airport
Flybe is calling on Jersey Airport to cut its charges or it could drop some services to the island.

The Exeter-based airline says it wants late-evening landing charges reduced or the future of its early flights out of Jersey will be at risk.

Flybe also says that if the current charges continue the airline will have to look at the economics of basing aeroplanes in Jersey.

Airport chiefs said the charges for late landing were fair.

Len Norman, President of the Harbours and Airports Committee, said charges were put onto airlines who requested extension to the airports opening hours.

He says it costs more than 2,000 an hour to run Jersey airport and extension costs contribute to this figure.
