Airline set to close island base
The airline VLM has announced it is to close its base in Jersey.

At a meeting on Friday at the Hotel De France, pilots, cabin crew and ground staff based in Jersey were told VLM was shutting its office in the island.

The 16 Jersey-based staff have been offered the chance to relocate but otherwise face being out of a job.

The airline's service to London City Airport is to be cut by two-thirds and there will only be one morning flight a day from the end of September.
