There will be three separate parades to the cenotaph in Jersey this month to mark the 60th anniversary of the end of World War Two, organisers have said. The island will be commemorating the end of the war on Sunday 14 August.
Veterans in Jersey decided not to celebrate the end of WWII on the day chosen by the UK government.
Organisers hope the decision will reassure Far East veterans their efforts have not been overshadowed by the Liberation and D-Day celebrations.
It is expected to be one of the last major gatherings for veterans on the island. Anybody who has served in the armed forces is being asked to attend.
There will be a non-religious ceremony at the Cenotaph which will include a two minute silence.
