There are fresh calls for action to make sure free milk deliveries can continue in Jersey. Deputy Geoff Southern wants politicians to work together to help people on lower incomes.
He is intending to ask the States to approve a plan to use public money to continue free deliveries for people on lower incomes who get subsidised milk.
He wants the States to work with senior citizens' groups and the Jersey Dairy to find a way to keep the service.
Since the Jersey Dairy stopped its deliveries five companies have taken over the service.
One firm, Sunrise Deliveries, run by two former milk men, has waived its 50p delivery charge for senior citizens.
