One of this year's elections for Jersey's States members could be a week earlier than usual. Proposals are being made to change the date of the Deputies election because of the move to ministerial government.
The election for Jersey's 29 Deputies normally takes place every three years in late November.
It should mean an election on Wednesday 30 November, but now the Privileges and Procedures Committee wants to have it on the previous Wednesday - the 23rd.
This would leave enough time before Christmas to elect a Chief Minister and then the other ministers in the new council.
It would also mean the debate on next year's budget being held after the election, but before the new Deputies have been sworn in.
The committee wants all the new officials in place before Christmas so the ministerial system can start properly at the beginning of next year.
