Tourism officials are assuring the public Jersey is a safe place to visit despite a recent outbreak of the Norwalk virus. Hotel owners and managers have been discussing the virus which has affected hundreds of holidaymakers this season.
The health authorities are advising the industry how to manage the illness which causes vomiting and diarrhoea.
Last month up to 10 hotels reported cases of the bug and some gave out leaflets with advice about the illness.
It is rare for people to become seriously ill, but the bug is very contagious and people normally take up to three days to recover.
