The cost of introducing Jersey's new freedom of information laws will be investigated in the New Year. Constable Derek Gray, president of the Privileges and Procedures Committee, will be asking States departments about the costs of answering queries.
The laws were passed in July but are not expected to come into force in the island for some time.
They specify what type of information has to made public and what can be held back from publication.
The committee wants inquiries to be free and costs to be met by the departments.
