Islanders host vintage car climb
More than 100 competitors from Jersey, Guernsey and the UK are taking part in a Liberation Day vintage car race.

The Bouley Bay Hill Climb, which had taken place for 20 years before the German occupation, began again shortly after liberation in 1945.

Regular competitors of the hill climb will include Colin Le Maitre, from Sark, who won last year's event.

Vehicles taking part include a Lotus 340R, Escort Cosworth, Gould Judd, 1350cc Mini and a Honda 450.

Regular Jersey rally driver John Morgan will also be coming from Wales to take part in the race.

It is the last time local competitors will be able to set qualifying times for the July National Championship hill climb.
