Island ready to mark liberation
A weekend of celebrations is taking place in Guernsey to mark the 60th anniversary of the end of war in Europe and freedom from Nazi occupation.

A whole host of activities is set to culminate in a visit by the Queen on Monday and a huge cavalcade through St Peter Port.

The celebrations are the culmination of months of hard work.

Liberation Day working party chairman Deputy Mike O'Hara said he was sure that everyone would enjoy what was on.
