Deputy asks for job law rethink
There is concern that a new job law in Jersey could leave employees without the right to ask someone to represent them at a disciplinary hearing.

Deputy Geoff Southern wants the States to change the employment law to allow a worker to nominate someone to represent them in such matters.

He says that if denied that right an employee could go to the Jersey Employment Tribunal.

He also wants to tighten up rules on employers recognising trades unions.
