One of Jersey's political parties has launched its election manifesto for this autumn's elections. The Jersey Democratic Alliance (JDA) was expected to launch its manifesto earlier this summer, but then announced it was to delay its publication.
It was eventually launched at a rally on Sunday.
Among the party's aims are a reversal in planned changes to the island's tax system, including a new sales tax and tax increases for middle earners.
'Essential concerns'
Deputy Geoff Southern, the acting chairman of the JDA, said it had taken a long time because of the amount of work involved.
He said: "It's had about 400 hours of work put into it, so we think it's coherent, consistent and it sets the standard.
"Where we oppose things, we provide alternatives and they're costed.
"I think we've covered the essential concerns of the Jersey public. We tried to listen and I think that is reflected."
The island is due to hold its general election in November before changing to its new ministerial system of government. It has only one other political party, the Centre Party.
