'Hard times' for festive carers
Experts are calling for more respite care to help carers in Jersey.

Research shows there are 495,000 carers giving unpaid support to a relative or friend this Christmas in the South West and 12,000 are in Jersey.

The Jersey Association of Carers says there needs to be a better system of support to relieve carers.

It says carers face a particularly hard time during the festive period and more respite care would help ease the pressure and make it less lonely.
